“Lydia und Tom führen die Wildnisschule mit soviel Liebe und Herzblut. Ich bin ganz begeistert. Bisher habe ich nur an einem Workshop teilgenommen, und das hat mir sehr gut gefallen.”
“Ich habe bei Lydia und Tom die Ausbildung Wildnispädagogik absolviert. Ich bin absolut begeistert und kann 'Walk on the Wildside' jederzeit empfehlen. Wer sich für die Ausbildung interessiert, ist hier in den richtigen Händen.”
“Lydia and Tom run the wilderness school with so much love and passion. I'm absolutely thrilled. So far, I've only participated in one workshop, and I really enjoyed it. The workshop was about tracking 🐾. Tom made it so interesting and varied that I'm now completely hooked on the subject. I will definitely attend more workshops with you. Thanks in advance. - Torsten -”
“A super friendly team, great team games, and delicious food, freshly prepared with fresh herbs. It's just a shame that camping is no longer allowed at the wilderness campsite. That was always wonderful. Thank you, Tom and Lydia, for many wonderful days of experiential learning with you. We will definitely be back.”
“More Than Just a Class Trip – An Experience for Mind, Heart, and Community Our class trip (5th grade) to the wilderness school was far more than just a collection of exciting activities in the forest. Of course, archery, whittling, and fire-making were exciting and a lot of fun – but the true value of these days lay in something deeper. The focus was on mindfulness, responsibility, and genuine togetherness. The children learned to look out for one another, support each other, and overcome challenges together. It also became clear that respect isn't just for people, but for all living beings – whether they have two, four, six, or even no legs. This mindful approach to nature broadened our perspective. The wilderness school's location in the middle of the forest was ideal for escaping the stresses of everyday life. No constant ringing of cell phones, no screens – instead, pure nature, fresh air, and the calming feeling of being part of something bigger. It was amazing how quickly the noise of everyday life faded away – both outside and inside. This class trip strengthened us as a group, gave us new experiences, and sharpened our focus on what's truly important. It was an intense and enriching time that we'll surely remember for a long time. A huge thank you to Lydia, Tom, and their team for doing such a fantastic job.”
“Greetings! I really like this place. It's beautifully surrounded by forest, and you can truly feel connected to nature. What I particularly appreciate is the relaxed approach to activities. There are definitely days when we don't do much, but that actually makes us feel more active. Instead of forcing the children to play all the time, we're allowed to decide how we want to spend our time. It's also important to mention that we often sit around the campfire. For people who like to chat ten times a day, this can be quite tedious – for others, not so much. Some activities, like the guided meditation, are, in my opinion, overrated and somewhat misleadingly described. Otherwise, the counselors are really nice. You can have good conversations with them, especially on an equal footing, which makes many children feel heard. There's room for jokes, and the food isn't just edible, it's truly delicious! The children are also very friendly, so you can really feel at ease. Otherwise, the counselors are really nice. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys wandering in the woods, reading Warrior Cats, and loves debating with grown-ups. May StarClan light your way, Stormheart / Soaring Hawk / Sam”
“Our son has been attending the camps for children and later teenagers for many years. Now he even helps lead camps himself. The enthusiasm for nature, the knowledge imparted, and the camaraderie have all helped him grow. Thank you to Tom and Lydia and the team for their work, passion, and creativity.”
